Location for Lodgement of Refugee and Special Humanitarian Proposals

All applications for a Refugee and Humanitarian visa with a form 681 (Refugee and Special Humanitarian Proposal ) must be lodged at one of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s Offshore Humanitarian Processing Centres (OHPCs) in Victoria or New South Wales (NSW), from 1 April 2012.

While this will not impact applicants from the department’s Africa and Middle East regions, who already lodge their visa applications at the NSW and Victorian OHPCs respectively, it will affect applicants from all other countries.

From 1 April 2012 clients residing in South Asia, South East Asia, East Asia, the Pacific, Europe and the Americas will need to lodge their applications at the NSW OHPC by either courier or standard mail. Details of how and where to lodge can be found on the department’s website:
