The Australian High Commission Staff held a Charity Sale on 27-28 August 2014.
Staff members cleared out their wardrobes, bookshelves and cupboards, boxed up all the items they never use but had been keeping ‘just in case’ and brought them to the Australian High Commission to raise money for charity.
Staff enjoyed finding some bargains while supporting a great cause.
The Charity Sale was a huge success and raised over LKR 40,000 for charities supporting children’s education.
The Charity Sale was the inaugural event run by the Australian High Commission Staff Charity Committee. The Committee plans to continue holding monthly events to raise money for worthy causes, with a particular focus on children’s education.
